Slavnik 1028m 🌿 Slovenia

Last weekend, we decided to tackle Slavnik, a gorgeous mountain in the Primorska region of Slovenia. It’s not too far from the Italian border and stands at 1,028 meters high. If you’re looking for a chill hike with stunning views, this is definitely the place to go.

Starting Point: Podgorje ( Parking is near the Sport stadium, cost 3 euro per day)
Elevation: 510 m
Difficulty: Easy

We started our hike from the village of Podgorje, which is at 510 meters elevation. This route is a bit longer but super gentle, so it’s great if you’re hiking with kids or just want to take it easy. As we made our way up, we were surrounded by butterflies. Seriously, they were everywhere, and their colorful wings added a magical vibe to our hike. We also spotted some cool bugs along the way. The highlight, though, was seeing two big snakes! They were harmless and quickly slithered away, but it was pretty exciting.

The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. On a clear day, you can see the Gulf of Trieste, the Julian Alps, and even the Dolomites in Italy. It’s like you’re on top of the world!
We had lunch at the Tumova Koča na Slavniku. The food was nice and having coffee while soaking in those incredible views was the best.
If you’re looking for a hike that’s easy but still offers amazing scenery, Slavnik is a must-do.Happy hiking, and here’s to more awesome adventures!
